So the newest Loyola Magazine came out — I don’t normally pay attention to them, but I was happy that my mail got forwarded to my place in Vegas. I couldn’t help but notice to image of the Hellraiser himself gracing the cover – none other than Mr. Terry Caldwell.
It brought back some fond memories of teachers going through this issue, as they talked about some of the great teachers there. I was hoping for an excerpt on Mr. Tom Goepel, but alas, there was none. Included are Mrs Dell’Amico, Mr. Kwan (faculty since 04, so we never knew him), Mr. Wolfe, Madam Cane, Mr. Portman, Mr. Caldwell, and Mr. Bodensteiner.
Something both Kate and I were intersted in was Mr. Portman; his wife taught at Notre Dame, and she had heard stories about him from me. Apparently Mrs. Portman is basically the same sort of nicest-person-in-the-world teacher that Mr. Portman was; I’m glad the NDA girls were able to have someone like Mr. Portman at their school. Honestly — if more people were like Mr. Portman, the world would be a better place.
I don’t pretend to keep in touch with the teachers or anything, but taking me back to high school, and a definitive time in my personal development — I can’t help but be happy for the great teachers at Loyola.

i got that issue too! haha. oddly enough, it took a picture of mr. caldwell on the cover to make me want to open a loyola magazine =P
just read it this evening. mrs dell’amico, mr wolfe and mr portman all look great. i hope they do more teacher profiles. reading them made them all seem twenty times more awesome, if that’s even possible.i can’t wait for michael mason’s.
